siRNA

Continuous monitoring of cells following the addition of siRNA to the population provides great insight into behavioural and morphological changes.  In this example human fibroblasts were used, one control sample and two treated samples were studied.  Treated sample 2 was a complete gene knockdown.  

Cell-IQ® enabled continuous monitoring of the population, the videos show that control cells went on to proliferate (viable cells shown in red), cells in the Treated 1 population where unable to divide but did not die and cells in the sample Treated 2 started to die (dead cells shown in blue) after a relatively short period of time.  The ability of the Analyser Software to recognise and quantify the different cell morphologies made quantitation of the cell phases simple and quick, the kinetic data is provided in the graphs below.
